2. What data we collect and why
Junier will not process personal data for purposes other than as instructed by the Terms and Conditions or as in other ways necessary to provide the services.
Account Holders & End Users
When you create an account with us, we collect your name, email address, and other information necessary to provide our services and facilitate communication with participants. We process payment information through our payment processor, and we track your usage of our platform internally to improve our services.
We collect this information to provide the Junier platform, manage your account, process payments, and enhance our services. Our legal basis for this processing is the performance of our contract with you.
Session Participants
For individuals participating in research sessions, we collect names and email addresses for registration purposes. During sessions, we may collect video and audio recordings, screen recordings, and responses and feedback.
This data collection enables user research sessions for our customers. Participants provide consent for this processing, which is obtained by the organization conducting the research. We act as a data processor on behalf of the organization conducting the research.
Website Visitors
When you visit our website, we use authentication cookies necessary for login functionality and user preference cookies to remember your settings. This enables secure access to our services and improves your experience on our platform. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing functional website services.
3. Who we share data with
We share your data only when necessary to provide our services or meet legal obligations.
Within your account, End Users can access participant data from sessions they conduct. This sharing is essential for the research functionality of our platform.
We work with carefully selected service providers to deliver our services, including providers for hosting, payment processing, email communications, video infrastructure, and cloud processing services. All our service providers are required to protect your data in compliance with applicable laws. A current list of our sub-processors is available in our Data Processing Agreement.
4. International data transfers
We primarily process data within the EU. However, some services may involve international transfers to ensure optimal service delivery.
All our service providers employ appropriate safeguards for international data transfers in compliance with GDPR. Details about specific transfers are available in our Data Processing Agreement.
5. How long we keep data
We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected.
Active accounts retain data for the duration of your service usage. After account closure, we maintain data for 30 days to allow for account recovery or data export. Participant data remains available until deleted by the End User or upon participant request.
6. Your rights
Under GDPR, you have several rights regarding your personal data.
You may access your personal data to review what information we hold about you. You can correct any inaccurate data to ensure our records are up to date. In certain circumstances, you have the right to delete your data. You may export your data in a portable format for transfer to another service. You can object to certain types of processing. Where consent is the legal basis for processing, you may withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@junier.co. Participants should contact the organization that invited them for session-related data requests.
7. Data security
We implement comprehensive security measures to protect your data. All data transfers use SSL encryption, and data is encrypted at rest on our servers. We enforce strict access controls through database-level security policies, and our infrastructure providers maintain industry-standard security certifications and practices.
In the event of a data breach, we will notify relevant authorities within 72 hours as required by GDPR, and will inform affected users according to legal requirements.
8. Children's data
Our platform is not intended for use by children under 18 years of age. End Users are responsible for verifying participant age and obtaining appropriate parental consent if they invite participants under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without proper authorization.
10. Changes to the Privacy Policy
